Bathroom Tile Ideas
Bathrooms have gained equal significance in our lives as they have turned into a place of relaxation. Bathroom tiles can add up to the decor and comfort. These come in different sizes, shapes, textures and patterns.
Mostly ceramic tiles are preferred because of its features. These are easily maintainable, durable, safe to walk on and damp resistant. The feature of being slip resistant aids to the safety feature required in the bathroom. Though unglazed tiles are chosen by many, it is difficult to maintain them. A lot of time and energy is wasted on cleaning them because they tend to absorb stains easily.
Everyone has their own perception about decorating the bathroom. However, here are some ideas to toil with.
Colors: Color scheme for bathroom tiles are very significant. While warm colors like yellow can give a sense of comfort, neutral colors like beige and white give it an illusion of bigger space. Bright colors bring in the romantic and drama to the concept but cool colors bring in a soothing, pleasant but cold feature to it.
Visual impression: The contrasting colors seem to strike more, whereas complementary colors mellow down the tone of the colors. While using ceramic tiles of bold, solid colors, it is better to choose tiles of alternate colors along the borders. It gives a definition to the space. If the color of the tiles is too strong, use tiles of softer shades or of complementary color to soften the base. It will create a spectacular impression on the eyes.
Same color: Using a color theme for the bathroom and covering it with a single color is a choice that many opt for. However, it tends to be monotonous and boring after some time if not done intelligently. While the floor tiles and wall tiles can have same colors if you want, choose different shades to bring out the essence of the color. Another option will be to use tiles of different shapes and size for the walls and the floor respectively. This will give a better visual effect.
Grout color: Same color tiles divided with contrasting grout color tends to create a lasting stand in itself. This idea stands out because it melts the concepts of same color and contrast into one. While you are using only one colored tile, you are also using grout of a contrasting color to give an identity to the tiles. When using different colored grout, consider applying heavy coating of sealer in the areas that will have to bear the maximum wearing. It will also make the grout stay longer.
Textures tiles: It is one of the better solutions to use as it merges both color and texture in favor of the bathroom. While you can add differently textured tiles in various patterns like floral, geometrical patterns to bring the exact look you want, you can also have hand painted tiles and engraved tiles to bring out the desired effect.
The impression created by the various bathroom tile designs gets accentuated by the arrangement of lights and accessories used.
